Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Stacklog is a self-hosted project and hobby tracker developed by NoobVenture. This instance is operated at stacklog.noobventure.com. For privacy-related questions, contact us through the site or at noobventure.com.

2. What data we collect

When you create an account or use Stacklog we collect:

  • Account information — your name, email address, and a bcrypt-hashed password. Your plaintext password is never stored.
  • Project data — projects, tasks, milestones, notes, comments, devlog entries, and time logs you create.
  • Uploaded files — any files or images you attach to projects, stored in a self-hosted MinIO instance.
  • Usage data — activity timestamps and action logs generated automatically as you use the app (e.g. "Created task X").

We do not collect analytics, telemetry, advertising identifiers, or any data beyond what is needed to run the service.

3. How we use your data

  • To provide, operate, and improve Stacklog.
  • To send invite and notification emails via Mailjet when you or a project member triggers them.
  • To keep you logged in via a secure session cookie.

Your data is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Where your data is stored

All data is stored on a self-hosted server operated by NoobVenture:

  • Database — MongoDB running on private infrastructure.
  • File storage — MinIO running on private infrastructure.
  • Email delivery — Mailjet (mailjet.com) is used solely to deliver transactional emails such as invitations. Mailjet receives the recipient email address and email content. See Mailjet's privacy policy for details.

No data is stored with cloud providers or on servers outside our control beyond the above.

5. Cookies

Stacklog uses a single essential cookie to keep you logged in. No tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies are used. See our Cookie Policy for full details.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — correct inaccurate data (you can update your name and email in Settings).
  • Erasure — request deletion of your account and all associated data.
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Restriction — request that we limit processing of your data.
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at noobventure.com. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, all personal data and project data owned solely by you will be permanently deleted within 30 days. Data that is part of shared projects may be retained in anonymised or attributed form until the project owner deletes the project.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of Stacklog after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
